Beyond Compare

Beyond Compare gives you the possibility of comparing files and folders much faster and easier. Instead of placing two Finder windows side by side and looking for differences, you can let this application spot and highlight different or similar items for you. It is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux and it can be installed in just a few seconds.

The application supports various operations, which are presented on a home screen, on its user interface. It is capable of comparing and merging entire folders, as well as text files. Also, Beyond Compare allows you to compare tables, hex values, as well as digital pictures.

Preparing any of the aforementioned operations involves nothing more than selecting two files or folders on different panes. Once the second component is selected, the application will compare their contents immediately and it will also highlight different or identical items. Additionally, you can set up various rules, to perform a comparison based on different criteria and to include or exclude specific files or file types.

Besides comparing the contents of two folders or text files, the application provides you with the means of making them identical. You can filter identical items or differences and copy files or text fragments from one side to the other, using a series of simple options, located on a toolbar. It is also possible to copy everything at once, with a single click, to make the files or folders identical.
